Solar Energy in South Australia: Fast Facts

Feed in Tariff:	- 16 cent per kilowatt hour fed into the grid, plus an electricity retailer contribution of 6 cents per kilowatt hour. - Find out more about South Australia’s feed in tariff here.

Switchboard upgrade cost:	- Minor upgrade: approximately $150-$500 - Major upgrade: approximately $500-$1200 What’s a switchboard upgrade? Click here.

Meters:	- Approximately $250 single phase - $350 - (Note: there is no direct charge if you're eligible for a Smart Meter - contact your distributor for details) Limitations/specific requirements: - Council approval required for tilt legs above 10cm in height. Energy Matters will submit the ETSA network application and meter changeover on your behalf. - Systems over 5000W require the customer to sign a connection agreement that is posted to them by ETSA once we complete the GC application. - The NMI number, Meter Number and number of electrical phases must be collected from the customer to complete the GC application form, otherwise it will be rejected from ETSA.

Meter and FIT requirements:	- We’ll lodge all the necessary pre-approval and meter changeover forms with ETSA on your behalf. Your meter changeover will be booked for the earliest availability and we’ll send you an email to confirm this date once ETSA have accepted the booking. - Feed in tariff contracts (FIT) should be discussed between you and your retailer directly.
