Solar Energy in Canberra and the ACT: Fast Facts

Feed in Tariff:	- The Territory's feed in tariff scheme was closed during 2011, however you are still eligible to receive a feed in tariff rate equivalent to the daytime shoulder rate of 17 cents per kilowatt hour. It is recommended you contact your electricity retailer directly to determine the benefits they might be able to offer. - Find out more here.

Switchboard upgrade cost:	- Minor upgrade: approximately $200-$400 - Major upgrade: approximately $800-$1400 What’s a switchboard upgrade? Click here.

Meters:	- Approximately $400 (ex GST) - Switchboard requires two empty circuit breaker slots. - There is an inspection fee with ActewAGL as well as meter changeover fee. Only Authorized Service Providers (ASP) can install a gross meter.

Meter and FIT requirements:	- Energy Matters will prepare the Grid Connect application forms and send them to you to be signed and lodged by you. Once installed, the installer notifies ActewAGL who complete the meter change over. - It is your responsibility to ensure that your distributor has submitted this to the relevant retailer and that this is acknowledged by the retailer.
