SunEdison Secures USD $75 Million For Solar Projects

December 24, 2014. Through an agreement with JPM Capital Corporation, SunEdison will invest up to $75 million in a $175 million solar energy development fund to purchase up to 60 megawatts of solar power projects

SunEdison Inks 350MW Solar Deal In Chile

December 16, 2014. SunEdison announces major Chile project, the closing of financing for 3 solar facilities in Honduras and the signing of a PPA with 16 separate public housing authorities across Massachusetts, USA.

SunEdison JV To Develop 1GW Of Solar In Brazil

November 26, 2014. SunEdison has partnered with Renova Energia S.A. to develop, own, and operate more than 1 gigawatt of utility scale solar power in Brazil.

Walmart Chooses SunEdison For Solar Expansion

November 24, 2014. The world’s largest retailer, Walmart, has announced SunEdison to be one of two firms to install up to 400 new solar power systems at Walmart facilities across the USA.

SunEdison Soon The World’s Largest Developer Of Renewables

November 19,l 2014. SunEdison, Inc. and TerraForm Power, Inc. (Nasdaq: TERP) have announced the signing of a USD $2.4 billion agreement to acquire First Wind, one of the USA’s  leading developers, owners and operators of wind farms.

SunEdison To Install Up To 300MW Of Solar In The Philippines

November 13, 2014. SunEdison, Inc. has announced the signing of a joint framework agreement with Aboitiz Renewables, Inc. to develop to 300 megawatts of utility-scale solar PV projects in the Philippines over the next three years.

SunEdison Wins 150MW Of Indian Solar Energy Projects

November 3, 2014. SunEdison Inc. announced late last week it has been awarded 5 solar PV projects totaling 150 megawatts capacity in India. The company also provided details on a USD $130 million  non-recourse debt financing arrangement that will fund construction of a 69.5 megawatt solar farm located in Chile.

SunEdison To Contribute 5GW To India’s Solar Mission

October 30, 2014. SunEdison Inc. will be a major contributor to India’s ambitious plan of adding 25GW of new solar energy projects in the sun-soaked region of Rajasthan.

October 20, 2014. SunEdison, Inc. has announced a joint venture agreement with JIC Capital that will result in the development of up to 1 GW of utility-scale solar PV projects in China over the next 3 years.

SunEdison Announces ‘Zero White Space’ Solar Modules

October 15, 2014. SunEdison, Inc. has released initial details of its new Zero White Space (ZWS) solar module technology, which the company states can boost solar module output by up to 15%.

SunEdison To Produce Polysilicon At ‘Lowest Cost In The World’

October 2, 2014. SunEdison, Inc.’s most advanced polysilicon technology is now in production and will reduce the cost of solar panel polysilicon to less than USD $0.05 per watt peak by 2016. September 11, 2014. Google Inc. has announced it will invest USD $145 million in equity financing for SunEdison, Inc.’s Regulus solar power station.

July 28, 2014. SunEdison, Inc. has acquired the 156 megawatt Comanche Solar power generation plant in Colorado.

July 23, 2014. Tuesday saw two major announcements relating to US-based solar giant, SunEdison – the construction of a 14-megawatt solar farm in Clark County, Nevada; and closer to home, Australia’s Clean Energy Finance Corporation has announced it will provide finance of up to $70 million to SunEdison to establishnew financing programs for the installation of solar in Australia.

SunEdison Secures Financing For (Another) Chile Solar Farm

July 3, 2014. SunEdison has secured a US$155 million non-recourse debt financing arrangement to be used in the construction of a 72.8 MWp solar farm in Chile. Also announced was the company’s intention to acquire a 50% ownership stake in Silver Ridge Power, LLC   and the purchase 50 megawatts of solar photovoltaic  projects from BlueWave Capital LLC.

May 27, 2014. SunEdison has announced it will install, monitor and manage a collective 1.8 MW of solar panel capacity for Rosedale Union School District (RUSD) in Bakersfield, California. The company also announced a donation of solar modules to Homeboy Industries, the largest gang intervention and rehabilitation program in the USA

SunEdison Lighting Up California (And Elsewhere)

May 2, 2014. SunEdison has announced it has secured construction financing for the 60 MW Regulus solar power plant located in Kern County, California. The company also announced two solar power plants to be built in Ontario, Canada and a solar donation to Mariposa Center for Girls in the Dominican Republic.

SunEdison Secures Additional Solar Cell Supply

April 7, 2014. US solar giant SunEdison has inked a deal with South Korea’s Shinsung Solar Energy, which will supply 660 MW (megawatts) of high efficiency solar cells. In other recent news, the company announced it had shipped over 1 gigawatt of its Silvantis Solar PV modules.

Cascade Solar Farm Construction Complete

March 21, 2014. Hardly a day has gone by recently without SunEdison appearing in renewable energy headlines – and the mover and shaker of the solar world has just finished another major project, been awarded “Latin American Solar Deal Of The Year” and sealed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with Austin Energy.

SunEdison’s National Women in Solar Initiative

March 10, 2014. SunEdison has announced a $1.2 million philanthropic partnership with GRID Alternatives that aims to boost the number of women participating in the nation’s solar industry. In other SunEdison news, the company announced a partnership in a $50 million fund to build a 13.4 megawatt solar portfolio for the State of California prison and hospital systems.

SunEdison Enters UK Solar Market With 56MW Portfolio

February 27, 2014. US-based SunEdison has burst on to the UK renewables scene after a financing agreement with Deutsche Bank. The company also announced it had commenced full-time operations at its 18 MW Tirunelveli solar farm in Tamil Nadu, India.

SunEdison Completes USAF Base Solar Project

February 24, 2014. SunEdison and MIC Solar Energy Holdings announced last week the completion of a 16.4 megawatt solar farm located on Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona. Also announced was another rooftop solar project for Whole Foods.

SunEdison, Saudi Arabia Contemplating $6.4 billion Solar PV Plant

February 6, 2014. SunEdison has partnered with two Saudi Arabian agencies to carry out a feasibility study for the construction of an estimated $6.4 billion, 3 GW solar PV (photovoltaic) manufacturing plant at Wa’ad Al Shammal.

Januray 6, 2014. Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia’s flagship airport and gateway to the East, has received a photovoltaic makeover by SunEdison.

SunEdison Sale-Leaseback Fund Doubles

December 6, 2013. SunEdison has announced De Lage Landen Financial Services (DLL) has increased its investment in a sale-leaseback solar fund to over $100 million. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg also announces a partnership with the company to build what will be the City’s largest solar energy project

SunEdison To Construct 50.7MW Solar Farm In Chile

November 22, 2013. SunEdison Inc. says it will build a 50.7 MW photovoltaic power plant in Chile’s Atacama region after closing a $100.4 million finance deal with the U.S. Government’s Overseas Private Investment Corporation and the World Bank Group.
