Energy Matters A Melbourne Awards Winner
by Energy Matters

In a gala ceremony at Melbourne Town Hall on Saturday night, Victoria-based national solar
company Energy Matters emerged a winner in the Melbourne Awards.
Energy Matters was granted top honours in the category of Contribution To
Environment (Corporate Division).
2010 Melbourne Awards finalists were chosen from more than 70 applicants by a
panel of 40 independent judges. Individuals, community groups, and organisations
were judged on their contribution to Melbourne’s profile, community or
environment.
For Max Sylvester, co-founder of the company, the recognition is a very
important milestone for Energy Matters. "This is a huge honour for us. The
Melbourne Awards win is not only recognition of where we've been and where we
are now, it will spur us on to do even more in the area of renewable energy
advocacy and innovation, both locally and nationally."
"5 years ago, Energy Matters was founded after a kitchen table discussion
held in suburban Armadale. We were eager to help empower change in the energy
industry within Australia - to play our role in moving towards a greener
Melbourne and for that matter, a greener nation," said Mr. Sylvester.
"Today, we employ over a hundred full time staff in Melbourne and across
Australia, in addition to our extensive national solar power installer network.
Our web site at
www.energymatters.com.au
has evolved into a massive resource for people interested in learning more about
solar power and renewable energy and is often referenced by industry
journals."
The company has set its goals high - to become the leading solar supply and
install business in Australia and to play its part in ensuring all Australians
have access to a cleaner, greener electricity supply.
