This week, Virginia reports on more solar myths busted, the Solar Credits subsidy threatened by big business and the importance of stable renewable energy policy for Australia.

 

       
In this episode:
 
- The "Solar Is For Rich City Folks" myth has been busted yet again.  In a submission prepared by the REC Agents Association an analysis of postcode locations of solar installations once again found that most systems were installed in regional communities. Read more.
  
- The Energy Users Association of Australia is urging the Renewable Energy Target review to recommend dumping the small-scale renewable energy target for solar panels, according to an article published by The Australian. This would include the trashing of the Solar Credits multiplier subsidy, which has less than 12 months lifespan left as it is. Read more.
 
- Christine Lins, Executive Secretary of REN 21 says stable and supportive renewable energy policy framework leads to increased productivity and growth, job creation, improvements in public health and enhanced energy security. Ms Lins says that while Australia is seen as a leader in many innovative industries like science and health, but at the moment it is trailing behind overseas renewable energy frontrunners like Germany.
