Power-One Beefs Up Inverter Range And Warranty

Australian solar buyers now have more choice in Aurora inverters – and an even more robust warranty arrangement.

The Aurora UNO-2.0-I (2000 watt) and UNO-2.5-I (2500 watt) are the latest single phase string inverters in the popular Aurora range from Power-One. The new models are available from Energy Matters and its sister company, Apollo Energy.

These outdoor inverters have been designed as fully sealed units to withstand Australia’s often harsh conditions and are the smallest solar inverters in Power-One’s outdoor range. The new design includes a special built-in heat sink compartment and front panel display system.

Featuring an efficiency of 96.3% and incorporating high speed MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking), the wide input voltage range makes the UNO-2.0-I and UNO-2.5-I inverters particular well suited to smaller solar power installations with reduced string size.

Both inverter models were recently certified  by Australian Safety Approval’s Electrical Product Safety Certification Scheme (approval number: ASA12101701 – Standards: AS 4777.3-2005, AS 4777.2-2005, AS/NZS 3100:2009 + A1, AS/NZS60950.1:2011).

Power-One also recently announced enhanced warranty arrangements for Australian customers. In the event of a unit failing, Power-One will despatch a replacement for a faulty inverter within 2 days of an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorisation) being raised.

Power-One will organise and cover costs of pick up and shipping of the faulty inverter back to the company.

In other Power-One related news, the company announced last week it had entered into a strategic alliance with Phono Solar to market and sell solar panel systems worldwide using Power-One inverters and monitoring.

“This is a powerful partnership between two leading solar companies, with similar cultures and shared strengths in technology and innovation,” said Dr. Alex Levran, President, Renewable Energy Solutions at Power-One.

Currently the second largest manufacturer of solar inverters in the world, California-based Power-One employs thousands of people globally and all its facilities are ISO certified.
