CEC Elections Loom – Energy Matters CEO A Nominee

Member solar installers are urged to have their say in this year's crucial Clean Energy Council board elections - proxy votes must be lodged by tomorrow afternoon at the latest.

Correction: The CEC AGM is on Friday November 29 and members have until until 2pm, Wednesday November 27 to submit their proxy votes.

Member solar installers are urged to have their say in this year’s crucial Clean Energy Council board elections – proxy votes must be lodged by tomorrow afternoon at the latest.

Jeremy Rich, CEO of  Energy Matters and Apollo Energy, is a nominee for a position on the Board. With a solid knowledge of the myriad issues and challenges facing home and commercial solar power in Australia; Jeremy is well placed to represent the sector’s interest in a Board role.

Jeremy brings relevant skills through his early career as an actuary at a major bank; before growing Energy Matters from a start-up business to turnover of $100 million while continually in profit and being recognised as a 2010 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist.

Jeremy has taken a leading role in engaging with the community and advocating for appropriate solar policies and standards; including contributing to the development of the CEC’s new Voluntary Code of Conduct for Australian Solar PV Retailers

Part of the Solar PV Leadership Committee last year, Jeremy intends further increasing his efforts should he be elected to the Board; particularly given the very real threat to Australia’s Renewable Energy Target that could have a massive impact on solar installers throughout the nation.

While election day is this Friday the 29th of November, proxy voting forms (PDF) must be submitted by close of business on Tuesday, November 19. The completed forms can be scanned and emailed to agm@cleanenergycouncil.org.au.

The Clean Energy Council was built on the back of the small/medium scale PV sector; but currently the Board is dominated by representatives of large companies. This may be in part due to some CEC members having more voting power than others and less than full participation by member installers in the last election; underlining the importance that all CEC member solar installers vote this year.
