Yingli Announces Solar Joint Venture With China Rich Energy

Yingli Green Energy has announced Yingli Energy (China) has established an investment agreement for a joint venture with China National Nuclear Corporation (CNCC) subsidiary, China Rich Energy.

Yingli Green Energy has announced Yingli Energy (China)  has established an investment agreement for a joint venture with China National Nuclear Corporation (CNCC) subsidiary, China Rich Energy.

Building on framework agreements signed several months ago with CNNCC, the joint venture was formed to develop and construct 500 MW of distributed generation solar power projects across China. 200 MW capacity will be constructed on sites to be provided by China National Nuclear Corporation and its subsidiaries, including China Rich Energy.

“The cooperation with Yingli Solar reflects our strategy and is in line with the strategic targets of the Chinese government to promote ecological civilization and sustainable development,” said Mr. Hongchao Xu, Chairman of the JV and Deputy General Manager of China Rich Energy.

The inking of the investment agreement signifies the cooperation between Yingli Solar and China Rich Energy has now entered the implementation stage.

In other news from Yingli, the company announced early yesterday it has supplied 1 MW of Yingli solar panels to Serbia’s 2nd largest solar project. The 1 MW solar farm is located in Kladovo, 250 kilometres east of Belgrade. The project is the largest ground-mounted solar panel installation in Serbia funded by a domestic investor.

“Yingli was the obvious manufacturer of choice for us, given their reputed PV brand and track record of success, especially in large-scale PV installations,” said Milos Kostic, Managing Director of Solaris Energy Ltd; the investor in the project.

Also earlier this week, Yingli provided some initial detail with regard to a partnership agreement with Shuozhou Coal Power Co., Ltd. to develop and construct solar farms in Shuozhou city, Shanxi province.

Yingli Solar is a fully integrated PV module manufacturer and is now the world’s largest in terms of production capacity and shipments. The company has shipped more than 30 million solar modules globally since it was established in 1998.
