German Battery Company A Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Winner Again

Sonnen - Deloitte Fast 50 Award

Germany’s sonnen Group was recently again named a recipient of the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award; this year with a Top 10 ranking.

Sonnen is Europe’s leading residential energy storage manufacturer, with more than 15,000 sonnen battery systems shipped globally to date.

A recent report indicated sonnen had a cumulative market share of 23% across European, USA and Australian markets combined, well in front of the second-ranked company.

The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award (Germany) recognises the fastest growing technology companies in terms of revenue over the past four years. In sonnen’s case, it achieved a growth rate of  576%.

“We are delighted to be once again among the winners of the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award and see this as a recognition of our hard work over the past few years,” said sonnen GmbH Sales and Marketing Director Philipp Schrode. “After being confirmed as market leader across the world’s most important storage markets, this is the second corporate recognition for sonnen within a short period.”

Accolades for sonnen are rapidly piling up. The Fast 50 recognition comes not long after the company was included in MIT Technology Review’s 50 Smartest Companies 2016 list; for “transforming the electricity market in Germany.”

The company’s flagship product, sonnenBatterie Eco, is a modular battery system available in Australia in 4kWh – 16kWh capacity. More storage can be easily added to the smaller capacity units in 2kWh increments, without requiring the inbuilt inverter to be upgraded.

The “plug and play” system also incorporates an intelligent energy manager and other software to ensure the battery operates at peak performance. The self-learning algorithm determines the best times to charge and supply; helping owners of solar power systems to get the most from their rooftop arrays.

With the added Sonnen Protect unit (available in early 2017 as an add-on), the system will be able to sense blackouts in real-time and automatically switch over to battery power.

As a demonstration of its confidence in the systems, sonnen offers a market-leading 10,000 cycle/10 year warranty on sonnenBatterie Eco.

Australian national solar and storage provider Energy Matters (another previous Fast 50 Award recipient), is currently offering up to $2,500 off sonnen retrofits and solar + sonnenBatterie Eco packages with 8kWh of capacity.

The offer ends 5pm Monday, November 24. Further details can be viewed here, or by contacting Energy Matters on 133 SUN.
