Speed Date A Community Solar Energy Expert

Community Energy Congress

The C4CE Community Energy Congress is the premier event on Australia’s community energy calendar, and this year attendees will be able to ‘speed date’ a community energy expert.

Congress 2017 has its sights set on inspiring community energy advocates, whether they are seasoned campaigners or those with a new interest in the community energy sector.

The event provides educational and networking opportunities, plus all the information interested parties will need to get their own community project up and running.

The “Speed Date a Community Energy Expert” aspect provides an opportunity for one-on-one discussions and free personalised advice from experts on the financial, legal, community engagement, and technical aspects of community energy.

Among the experts will be representatives from Energy Matters‘ parent company, Flex; which is also sponsoring the event.

Flex/Energy Matters have been involved with community solar energy projects in Australia for many years, with a special expertise in community bulk buy programs.

Some of the very successful initiatives Energy Matters has been involved with include MASH2 (Hub Foundation) , Moreland Solar Bulk Buy (Positive Charge/City Of Moreland) and Solar Saver (Darebin City Council / Positive Charge).

Solar bulk buy programs Flex/Energy Matters have assisted with have resulted in thousands of heavily discounted solar power systems installed in various communities across the country.

These systems aren’t only reducing emissions in their respective regions, but also helping residents take more control over their electricity costs. With battery systems also becoming increasingly popular and affordable, it’s expected there will be a significant amount of interest in energy storage options in future programs.

Flex/Energy Matters representatives attending will be:

  • Nicolas Kesten (Head of Strategic Marketing and Partnerships) end-to-end Solar Delivery Platforms expert
  • Stephen Hill (Head of Sales and Operations) solar Bulk-Buy Program expert
  • Wilf Johnston (Managing Director)

The three will be available to provide information on the secrets to setting up successful community solar programs and to answer any questions.

Those interested need to be registered for the Community Energy Congress in order to take part in Speed Date a Community Energy Expert. Congress registration is here and Speed Date interest can be registered here. While the Speed Date event is free, bookings are essential.

Speed Date a Community Energy Expert dates are Monday 27 February, 2:30-6:00pm and Tuesday 28 February, 9:00am-3:45pm at Melbourne Town Hall, 90 Swanston St, Melbourne.
