Energy Matters And Frankston City Community Solar Program

National solar provider Energy Matters has been invited to participate in Frankston City Council’s Frankston City Community Solar Program.

National solar provider Energy Matters has been invited to participate in Frankston City Council’s Frankston City Community Solar Program.

The Frankston City Community Solar Program has a goal of assisting those in its community in making informed solar power purchase decisions – to help residents avoid common pitfalls when acquiring a system and to secure a competitive price and value for money.

The Program involves two aspects; community education and supplier engagement. Energy Matters met a range of minimum performance standards for the industry set by Council to ensure quality products and services will be provided.

“We’re very proud to have been invited to join this important program,” said Energy Matters’ CEO Jeremy Rich. “We look forward to installing even more solar panel systems in the Council’s area and helping local businesses and residents slash their power bills.”

According to Energy Matters’ Australian Solar Index; residents of Melbourne and surrounding areas can achieve an estimated internal rate of return of 13.2% on a solar power investment, making it one of the best investments currently available.

Energy Matters states a good quality, professionally installed 5kW solar panel system situated in Frankston can generate approximately 6,980 kWh of clean electricity annually. Such a system can provide power bill savings of between $1,100 and $1,700 each year and also avoid approximately 9 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.

Energy Matters also offers a zero deposit “Save As You Go” arrangement whereby the repayment levels can be less than what would be paid for the equivalent mains-grid supplied electricity during the same period.

Frankston City Council businesses and residents interested in installing solar power systems can contact Energy Matters on 1800-EMATTERS or learn more at the company’s web site at https://www.energymatters.com.au.

Energy Matters will also be attending the Council’s Community Solar Event on 24 May 2014 at Frankston Arts Centre; 11am to 2pm.

Frankston City is a bayside suburb of metropolitan Melbourne, located 54 km from the city CBD. The area is home to more than 133,000 people.
