SunLock Cable Clips

SunLock cable clips (SLCC03) provide a reliable method of fixing solar PV cable to the frame of solar panels.

The clips are fabricated from stainless steel and are compliant with AS/NZS 5033:2012. Section 4.3.6.3.1 of AS/NZS 5033:2012 states cable ties cannot be used as a primary means of support unless they have a lifetime greater than or equal to the life of the system.

SunLock cable clips have a flared edge to prevent the clip chafing the solar cable. Each clip holds one or two cables with an outside diameter of ~ 7 mm. The clip can be mounted to solar module frames with a thickness of 1.1 – 2.0 mm.

Using the clips is very quick and easy - simply slide the clip onto the module frame. The clip can either face inwards or outwards. When mounted
inwards, the cables from the junction box can be held neatly prior to lifting the modules onto the roof. The return cable can also be held by outward facing clips.

As a general guide, each 250 watt solar panel requires 3 clips for the leads and 2 clips for the return cable. A few extras may be required for each system, depending on the nature of the solar panel installation.
