National solar solutions provider Energy Matters has been announced a finalist in the People’s Choice category of the 2011 Telstra Business Awards.
The BlackBerry People’s Choice Award is based on the belief that customers, staff, suppliers and colleagues are great judges of service, values, innovation and strength of business. Out of a field of 200 nominated businesses nationwide, Energy Matters was voted as one of the top five finalists in Victoria.
According to Energy Matters’ General Manager – Innovations, Max Sylvester; the People’s Choice award is particularly prestigious to the company.
“Our focus is on empowering change by helping Australians to become generators of clean, renewable electricity by installing solar panels on their rooftops. This is a great honour for Energy Matters and will spur us on in our quest to make solar power more accessible to Australians and to break the grip that emissions intensive coal-fired power generation still has in this country.”
Mr. Sylvester says the number of green-oriented businesses nominated for the People’s Choice Award this year was very encouraging. “It’s great to see Australians getting behind companies looking towards more sustainable practices and ending the addiction to fossil fuel that has wrought so much damage to our planet.”
Energy Matters was founded just 6 years ago, starting out from humble beginnings selling solar panels online through a garage-based office in suburban Melbourne. Today the company has branches throughout the nation, has installed thousands of solar power systems and employs over 100 people full-time.
