Bigger commercial systems, stackable home batteries, and smarter energy controls featured in Fox ESSโ All Energy Australia 2026 showcase. The company presented Power Beast, G-Max Plus, Power Cube, AirGate, and FoxCloud 2.0 at Booth N123 in Melbourne.
Australian swimming legend and Fox ESS brand ambassador Ian Thorpe joined mascot Maimai to welcome visitors on 28 and 29 October.
Behind the familiar faces, the display highlighted Fox ESSโ expanding ambitions across residential, commercial, and industrial energy storage.
TL;DR
- Power Beast combines hybrid inverters and high-voltage batteries, with configurations scaling into megawatt-hour storage.
- G-Max Plus offers liquid-cooled commercial storage, with 50 to 125 kW output and three battery capacity options.
- Power Cube brings stackable residential storage, with capacities from 10.92 to 49.14 kWh.
- AirGate combines five electrical functions to simplify installation and support whole-home backup.
- FoxCloud 2.0 adds flexible battery controls, with an AI assistant in Australian beta testing.
Fox ESS builds on its Australian battery footprint
Fox ESS reports installing 4.38 GWh of battery storage across Australia since May 2025. For perspective, that equals 4.38 million kWh of storage capacity. Using the companyโs assumed daily consumption, it represents approximately 219,000 householdsโ electricity needs for one day.
That comparison describes storage capacity, rather than the number of homes with Fox ESS batteries.
The company is now extending its focus across larger commercial and industrial applications, alongside its residential offering.
โHIGHER, FASTER and SMARTER underpin our success in the residential market and our expanding portfolio in C&I,โ said Brooks Richard Geng, Managing Director, APAC & ME.
Power Beast takes storage to a larger scale
Power Beast combines Fox ESS H3 Plus hybrid inverters with CQ7 high-voltage batteries. The company says configurations can scale to 7.308 MWh on-grid or 2.923 MWh off-grid.
These figures describe expanded system configurations, rather than the capacity of a single battery tower.
Installation practicality also forms part of the pitch. Power Beast uses a pre-cabled dual-tower base, which Fox ESS says can reduce installation time by approximately 90%. The release lists a stack height of 1.3 metres and individual battery module weights of 50 kg.
For installers, the pre-cabled approach aims to streamline assembly. Actual installation time will depend on site conditions and the work required.
G-Max Plus brings liquid-cooled commercial storage
G-Max Plus provides another option for commercial and industrial projects. The liquid-cooled, all-in-one cabinet solution integrates solar PV, battery storage, EV charging, and generator support.
Fox ESS lists the following specifications:
| Feature | Announced specification |
|---|---|
| Power output | 50 to 125 kW |
| Battery capacity options | 199, 221, or 241 kWh |
| Cooling | Liquid cooling |
| Grid switching | Under 10 milliseconds |
| Supported integration | Solar PV, batteries, EV charging, and generators |
Power and capacity describe different capabilities. Kilowatts indicate power delivery, while kilowatt-hours describe how much energy the battery can store.
For businesses, both need to match operating requirements. Equipment demand, backup priorities, and operating hours will influence the appropriate configuration.
Power Cube targets Australian homes
Fox ESS also showcased Power Cube, a stackable residential solution combining an inverter with EQ5500 batteries.
The range offers 10.92 to 49.14 kWh of battery capacity, with inverter options covering:
- Single-phase: 5 to 12 kW.
- Three-phase: 5 to 15 kW.
The capacity range gives installers options for households with different electricity needs.
However, larger storage only adds value when the household can make effective use of it. Consumption, charging opportunities, and backup requirements remain important considerations.
Fox ESS says Power Cube received TรV TS 5398 certification at the event.

AirGate aims to simplify backup installation
A home battery needs the right supporting electrical equipment to deliver its intended backup functions. Fox ESSโ five-in-one AirGate combines MCB, changeover, metering, bypass, and CT functions within one solution. These support circuit protection, switching, measurement, and current sensing.
The company lists 63 A whole-home backup capability and says AirGate can reduce wiring by at least 50%. Fox ESS also claims installation cost savings of up to $3,000 under a specific three-phase installation scenario.
That estimate assumes a 15-metre run of 16 mmยฒ cable. It should not be treated as a standard saving for every property.
Whole-home backup capability also requires appropriate design around inverter output, battery capacity, and household loads.
FoxCloud 2.0 puts smarter controls in focus
Hardware was only part of the showcase. FoxCloud 2.0 combines real-time updates with flexible battery control, helping users manage their energy systems.
The Australian beta version includes the Maimai AI Agent. Fox ESS says it can turn user requests into recommendations and system actions.
The company also highlighted the importance of round-trip efficiency: how much electricity remains available after charging and discharging a battery. Fox ESS reports 91.14% round-trip efficiency. Its example compares that with 86.14%, assuming 20 kWh is charged daily.
Under those assumptions, the five-percentage-point difference equates to approximately 365 kWh of additional electricity annually.
Actual performance depends on the system, operating conditions, and how efficiency is measured. The comparison does not establish a benchmark for every competing battery.
Matching the battery to the job
Fox ESSโ Melbourne showcase covered a broad range of applications, from household storage to substantial commercial installations. For homeowners, Power Cube and AirGate focused on storage flexibility and backup integration. Power Beast and G-Max Plus addressed larger project requirements.
Across the range, the practical question remains the same: how well does the proposed system meet the customerโs needs?
Storage capacity, power output, installation requirements, and energy controls all deserve attention before selecting a system. Fox ESS says it will continue engaging with partners through SEC roadshows in November.
