– According to the Australian Solar Energy Society’s Chief Executive John Grimes, the New South Wales government will not make a decision on solar policy until April next year. The industry has seen solar installations plummet by 88% in the state, with more than 100 jobs lost so far. Read more.
– A paper published recently in the US found that rooftop solar boosts the value of a home. The study found that homes with solar sold for roughly 3 percent more on average than houses without rooftop panels. Read more.
– Victoria’s feed in tariff is expected to be phased out soon for new applications. The scheme’s 100MW cap will be reached shortly and an interim program, yet to be formally announced, will take its place. The intention is to conduct the phase out very fairly, unlike sudden death cut offs in other states. Read more.
– Australian company Environmission is preparing to construct a 200MW solar energy plant in Arizona. At the time of planning the incentives for constructing such a plant in Australia “weren’t quite right”, according to Enviromission CEO Roger Davey. Read more.
