Sungrow announced today the company has been awarded a contract to supply central inverters for around 150MW of solar projects in India. Sungrow will assist with the design, manufacture and assembly of SG2500 turnkey central inverter solutions destined for Mytrah Energy’s solar projects in the Indian states of Telangana and Punjab. Mr. Girish Gelli, Director of Mytrah Energy (India) Private Limited, said Sungrow inverters were selected for their high efficiency, easy installation and maintenance; along with local technical support and global reputation. ” We would be happy to be associated with Sungrow for our future projects as well,” said Mr. Gelli. Professor Renxian Cao, President of Sungrow, said he was “delighted and overwhelmed” the company was selected and sees the contract as giving the company enormous momentum in India. 2016 has been a very productive year for the company. Earlier this month, Sungrow announced it had issued 120 million additional shares; raising US$400 million of additional capital to be utilised in strengthening its solar core business. In July, the company said it had connected a 4MW solar project in Vysokopillya, Southern Ukraine, where sub-zero temperatures occur for months each year.  SG60KTL string inverters were used for the project, which are capable of performing in temperatures ranging from -25C to 60C. Also in July, Sungrow connected a 50MW, 1500 volt, solar power plant to the grid in Datong, Shangxi Province, China. The company has also been enjoying success in the challenging UK solar market. More than 100MW of its inverters were connected to the grid in the UK during the first quarter of this year. According to the company,  Sungrow topped the world with PV inverter shipments in 2015 totaling 8.9GW. To date, more than 26GW of Sungrow’s PV inverter products have been installed worldwide. Sungrow solar inverters have proved a popular choice in Australia for residential solar power systems, offering reliability and features often found in more expensive units. Sungrow says it quadrupled shipments of residential solar inverters to Australia last year.
