Energy Matters CEO Nominee For Clean Energy Council Roles

Jeremy Rich, the CEO of Energy Matters, is a nominee for a position on the Board of Australia's Clean Energy Council (CEC) and also its Solar PV Leadership Committee.

Jeremy Rich, the CEO of  Energy Matters, is a nominee for a position on the Board of Australia’s Clean Energy Council (CEC) and also its Solar PV Leadership Committee.

Eight years ago Jeremy and three like-minded friends, each with a strong commitment to renewable energy, founded Energy Matters.

Since then, the award winning company has grown to be one of Australia’s leading independent solar PV firms with national reach and a business covering residential, commercial and wholesale markets.

Jeremy brings strong commercial capacity through his beginnings as an actuary at a major bank; before growing Energy Matters from a start up business to turnover of $100 million while continually in profit; and being recognised as a 2010 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist.

Jeremy has taken a leading role in engaging with the community and advocating for appropriate solar policies.

Through his 2012 membership of the CEC Solar PV Leadership Committee, Jeremy’s input focused on the needs of the broad PV membership, who have a long term commitment to the industry.

Jeremy’s goals for the CEC Solar PV Leadership Committee in 2013 include advocating for pro-solar policies and ensuring quality within the industry.

In relation to his nomination for the CEC Board, Mr. Rich says the Clean Energy Council was built on the back of the small/medium scale PV sector and it was critical all members vote in the upcoming election to ensure they have their say.

CEC Board elections are occurring at the AGM on Wednesday 21 November 2012. The Notice of Meeting and Proxy form have already been circulated to CEC members.

Solar PV Leadership Committee voting slips with a list of Nominees will be provided to each Sponsoring and Corporate PV member by 5pm Wednesday 12 December 2012. Completed voting slips by are due 5pm Wednesday 19 December 2012.
