This groundbreaking MOU, set to span a duration of 24 months, represents a significant stride in fortifying the Australian solar installer market.

Transforming Australia’s solar industry

As Daniel Lin, the Managing Director of LONGi Solar Australia, emphasised, “It is a very special time. We really want to work with the local industry, give a lot of students the best training and upskill together. It is our pleasure to work with you and make this happen. We are very proud and look forward to our short-term and long-term partnership.”

This pioneering collaboration between LONGi and the Solar Training Centre lays the foundation for a profound transformation of Australia’s solar industry. Crucial elements of this partnership include the provision of advanced technology panels for educational purposes, joint development of rooftop solar systems, and the documentation of installation processes for future training and marketing content. Furthermore, the partnership entails the participation of LONGi Business Development Managers in training classes, the utilisation of Solar Training Centre’s facilities for industry events, exclusive promotion of LONGi products, and LONGi’s endorsement of Solar Training Centre as its preferred training partner. Additionally, the Solar Training Centre will develop CPD Training Units and Modules for industry accreditation.

Steve Kostoff, CEO of the Solar Training Centre, expressed his appreciation, stating, “… To be able to use such good products, the best products in our training for the benefit of our students who then go to the customer with the best brand and the best training is an absolute honour.”

Significant moment for LONGi and Solar Training Centre

The signing ceremony and document were graced by the presence of John Grimes, CEO of the Smart Energy Council, an esteemed figure and a long-time supporter of Solar Training Centre, LONGi, and the broader Australian solar PV industry. Mr Grimes bore witness to this historic collaboration and underscored its significance, saying, “You get quality solar around Australia when you bring two things together, quality products and quality staff who are highly skilled and trained to install the products… We are delighted today to be supporting this partnership between two great companies in our industry… To see a partnership between these two big established companies bodes very well for our industry.”

The second phase of this partnership, set to be executed within the first twelve months, will explore the potential introduction of additional industry partners and expanded collaboration. This may encompass the development of marketing events, content, training courses, and the creation of learning materials at discounted rates.

This strategic alliance between LONGi and the Solar Training Centre is poised to drive excellence in solar education, empower solar installers, and promote the adoption of renewable energy solutions throughout Australia.
