Warranty Start Date
The date of shipment of the PV modules to the customer from Solarfun’s facility. Warranty claims must be received by Suntech within the warranty period.
Product Warranty
The product is warranted for 5 years from the Warranty Start Date as being free from defect in materials and workmanship under normal application, installation, use and service conditions.
Product Liability
Suntech will, at its option, repair or replace the defective modules. Solarfun’s total liability under the warranty will not exceed the sale price for the module.
Performance Warranty
Power output less than:
- 90% – 10 years
- 80% – 25 years
provided that the PV modules are used under normal conditions. Percentages refer to the minimum “Peak Power at STC” as specified in Solarfun’s Product Flash Datasheet.
Performance Liability
Solarfun will, at its option, either provide additional modules to the customer to make up for such loss in power, or repair or replace the defective modules. Solarfun’s total liability under the warranty will not exceed the sale price for the module.
Exclusions and Limitations
Warranties do not apply when:
- product has improper installation, wiring or maintenance;
- the panels are subject to inappropriate handling;
- product installation is in an environment which exceeds the standard operating
conditions, a mobile or marine environment, subjected to improper voltage or power surges, or subjected to abnormal environmental conditions; - the product is not at its original location;
- inappropriate maintenance (including by unauthorised technicians);
- product is subject to external accidents or forces such as fire, explosion and civil disorder, or other unforeseen circumstances outside Solarfun’s control;
- product is not identifiable as being of Solarfun manufacture.
Warranties do not cover transportation charges for the return of PV modules to Solarfun, customs clearance, taxes or any other costs relating to installation, removal or reinstallation of the PV modules. Warranty covers only the transportation cost for reshipment of any repaired or replaced PV modules to the destination port in the sales contract. Warranties only apply to the original customer who directly purchased the modules from Solarfun.
Service
Customer must notify Solarfun of any defect within 30 days of discovery of the defect. The notice must be in writing and include the description of the claim, serial number and proof of purchase.
