“The 20kW installation was completed in just 4 days”
The forward-thinking owner of the building that houses Hahndorf’s IGA chose Energy Matters to help him achieve his solar goals.
Joshua Reynolds purchased the solar power system, and Hahndorf IGA benefits from the substantial savings the system provides.

An 18.75 kW system was initially planned for the project, but while on site, Energy Matters installation professional Cameron Sherriff noticed suitable space for extra panels. With Mr Reynold’s consent, five more solar panels were quickly added to the design, significantly boosting the system’s total output and tenants’ electricity savings.
Award-winning REC solar panels were chosen for the project for their superior quality and rapid payback.
The panels were affixed to a SunLock mounting system. SunLock products are designed by Energy Matters’ sister company, Apollo Energy and manufactured in Australia. Designed by installers for installers, all SunLock products are fast to install, compliant with relevant standards (including AS/NZS1170.2:2011/Amdt 2:2012) and highly durable.
Two three-phase German-made SMA Sunny Tri-power solar inverters were used in the installation, which offer a “future-proof” design, a maximum efficiency of 98.5%, SMA OptiTrac MPP tracking, and active temperature management with OptiCool. SMA is the world’s leading inverter brand and has won multiple awards for its solar products.
As a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, and the little things indeed count when it comes to rooftop arrays, all other fixtures, fittings and cabling used in the installation were of equally high quality to ensure a long system life and maximum efficiency.
Energy Matters rapidly installed the 20kW rooftop solar panel system. Installation commenced on February 26, 2013 and was completed just 4 days later, on March 1 2013.
