Melbourne, Victoria, January 20, 2010. National solar solutions provider Energy Matters has announced a major milestone in their tree planting initiative, stating the planting of 20,000 trees have been sponsored by the company in the last 18 months.
The Energy Matters tree planting program assists communities throughout the world, including Africa, Asia, India, the Philippines and South America, to revegetate degraded lands.
According to co-founder, Max Sylvester, “While we could have chosen one of many excellent tree planting projects in Australia, we all share the same planet and a dollar goes a lot further in developing nations. The projects not only revegetate barren lands, but provide education, employment and other benefits to local, often impoverished, communities.
Mr. Sylvester says the tree planting initiative’s success is directly connected to the actions of thousands of visitors to the Energy Matters web site at www.energymatters.com.au .
