Erin van Maanen is a seasoned leader in Australia’s energy sector, boasting over 20 years of experience spanning renewable project development, corporate finance, and strategic leadership. She joined Hydro Tasmania in 2009 and has since held pivotal roles, including Executive General Manager of Strategy. In this capacity, she was instrumental in shaping the company’s strategic direction and overseeing its execution.

Following the retirement of CEO Ian Brooksbank in October 2024, van Maanen stepped in as Acting CEO, guiding the organisation through a critical transition period. During her tenure, she emphasised safety, culture, and performance, ensuring the company’s continued success.

Van Maanen’s career commenced in wind energy development, contributing to some of Australia’s earliest large-scale wind farms and international projects. Her diverse background also includes senior leadership roles in corporate finance, governance, and wholesale energy.

Beyond her corporate responsibilities, van Maanen is a member of the Champions of Change Energy Group, advocating for inclusive gender equality and increased representation of women in leadership within the energy sector.
