Energy Matters CEO A Clean Energy Council Board Nominee

Jeremy Rich, the CEO of Energy Matters, has announced he is a nominee for a critical position on the Board of Australia's Clean Energy Council.

Jeremy Rich, the CEO of Energy Matters, has announced he is a nominee for a critical position on the Board of Australia’s Clean Energy Council.

Mr. Rich says Energy Matters understands from its role as a national residential and commercial solar solutions provider how to tackle current and upcoming challenges facing the solar sector.

Jeremy Rich holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Information Systems. In 2010, he was a finalist in the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. Mr. Rich is actively involved in all facets of Energy Matters, from sales and marketing to supply chain.

Under Mr. Rich’s leadership and hands-on approach, Energy Matters has grown rapidly, been the recipient of a number of awards and is a vocal advocate for small and medium-scale solar in Australia through its web site, sponsorship of industry action and other initiatives. Mr. Rich believes a place on the CEC board is an opportunity to do even more for the sector.

“The industry is facing some major challenges and we can’t afford to sit back and just hope things pan out – the small/medium scale sector’s voice may be drowned out by other interests. We need effective representation,” says Mr. Rich.

“Polluting energy industries have solar in their sights – they have been disseminating misinformation on a grand scale and leveraging their substantial resources to hold solar PV back. For sustainable government policy to be implemented, we must first win over the hearts and minds of all Australians using solid economics-based information. Energy Matters and I are well placed to support the CEC in achieving this goal.”

Mr. Rich says the CEC was built on the back of the small/medium scale PV sector and it was critical all members vote in the upcoming election to ensure they have their say in who they believe should fulfil the board member role. The Clean Energy Council AGM will commence at 3.00pm on Thursday 17 November 2011 at Norton Rose, Level 15 RACV Tower 485 Bourke Street, Melbourne 3000.
