Warranty Start Date

The date of original purchase.

Product Warranty

Product is warranted against faults in materials and manufacture for a period of 12 months from the Warranty Start Date.

Product Liability

Sharp’s maximum liability is limited to the retail purchase price of the module.

Performance Warranty

Power output less than:

• 90% – 10 years
• 80% – 25 years

and Sharp determines that the power output loss is due to faults in materials or manufacture. Percentages refer to the minimum power output specified in Sharp’s written specifications. Rated power output is determined under the test condition of cell temperature of 25 degrees Celsius and irradiance of 1000W per square metre and AM-1.5 spectrum.

Performance Liability

Sharp will, at its option, repair or replace the module to bring the power output to the warranted percentage of specified minimum power output. Sharp’s maximum liability is limited to the retail purchase price of the module.

Exclusions and Limitations

Warranties do not apply to:

1. conditions caused by or resulting from installation procedures that do not conform to industry standards;
2. failures in observing the handling method or warnings given in the installation manuals or similar documents;
3. conditions arising from installation in aero, mobile or marine environment, war, riots, destruction, fire, explosion, natural disaster, salt damage, acid rain, power failures, lightening, flood, damage by animal, land subsidence, crack or landslide, accident or abnormal environment or pollution, actions of third parties and other events outside Sharp’s control and not occurring under normal operating conditions, or any phenomena that cannot be prevented with the technology available for practical use at the time of this warranty;
4. conditions arising from misuse, negligence, abuse or any human’s intention or fault;
5. conditions resulting from defect in components which are not part of Sharp brand PV module;
6. what does not affect the basic performance and power generating function;

Sharp is not liable for any incidental, consequential or punitive damages. The customer is responsible for any installation, removal, transportation and insurance costs and costs associated with the re-installation of modules.

Service

Customer must contact the dealer where the module was originally purchased from to make a warranty claim. Customer must produce sales documentation to validate a warranty claim. View full warranty details (PDF)
