Electrification isn’t a buzzword—it’s a movement. And the NSW Government is backing everyday Australians to make the switch. Whether you’re ditching gas appliances, installing a home battery, or upgrading your air con, help is here.
Featured in Energy Matters Episode 8, the latest Everything Electric expo spotlighted how government programs and new tech are working hand-in-hand to electrify homes, transport, and even job sites.
From rooftop solar to scooters and silent excavators, the clean energy future is here, and more affordable than ever.
Season 1 of Energy Matters wrapped with a bang, covering the Everything Electric expo in Sydney this March. The event brought together thousands of Aussies eager to explore the latest in electric vehicles, smart tech, and zero-emission machinery.
Industry leaders showed off the future of mobility, like the BYD Shark ute with built-in 240V power outlets, Segway’s sleek micromobility range, and Zeekr’s luxury EVs. Even heavy-duty gear got the electric treatment, with CJD Equipment unveiling battery-powered loaders and excavators from Volvo.
But it wasn’t just a tech showcase. Government leaders were on hand to speak with attendees, offer advice, and connect households with real support.
NSW is leading the charge with targeted programs to help households electrify and save. At the event, representatives from the Department of Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Water explained how their incentives are making electrification more accessible, especially when paired with federal support.
If you’ve got solar panels, a battery can maximise your energy use and slash bills. The NSW battery incentive provides rebates for eligible homeowners to install battery systems and take pressure off the grid.
Bonus: The new federal Cheaper Home Batteries program can stack with this, making it even more affordable to store your own power.
Sick of gas bills? Swap out your old hot water system for a highly efficient electric heat pump. Through the NSW heat pump rebate, eligible homes can access subsidies for approved energy-saving systems.
Replace your power-hungry air conditioner with an energy-efficient split system. The NSW air conditioner upgrade offer helps you heat and cool your home more efficiently, without blowing out your energy bill.
