Daqo Solar Panels Pass Salt Mist Corrosion Test

Daqo New Energy Corporation has announced all of its solar panels have successfully passed salt mist corrosion testing, carried out by TÜV Rheinland.

Daqo New Energy Corporation has announced all of its solar panels have successfully passed salt mist corrosion testing, carried out by TÜV Rheinland*.

The modules were tested at “Severity 6”, the most gruelling stress rating for this particular test. The testing involves exposing the modules to high levels of salt and humidity for 56 days.

“We are delighted with the strong performance of Daqo’s modules under TÜV stringent testing, and we pride ourselves on our products’ ability to function reliably under the most challenging conditions,” says a statement from Daqo.

“Our commitment to continuous technological innovation is vital to our ability to provide our customers with high-performance, high-efficiency, and high-reliability products.”

Earlier this year, Daqo panels also received certifications for IEC61730-2 fire safety testing and in multiple gruelling PID tests, the modules demonstrated a reduction in performance of less than one percent – earning Daqo a Class A rating.

Daqo solar modules have been gaining popularity in Australia since local solar provider Energy Matters introduced the brand to the Australia home solar power market in 2011.

The panels offer attributes and build quality usually only found in more costly brands. Energy Matters reports not a single panel it has installed has been subject to a warranty claim.

Such is the company’s confidence in Daqo’s products; Energy Matters recently signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with Daqo New Energy Corporation for supply of a further 10MW of its modules.

In a sector where companies are being squeezed out almost daily; Daqo is one of China’s good news stories and it is one of just a handful of Chinese solar companies eligible to receive priority funding support from China Development Bank Corp.
