GoodWe Australia: Debut of New Lightweight Commercial Solar Panel at 2023 Smart Energy Conference and Exhibition

GoodWe, a top inverter brand in Australia, is set to unveil its latest lightweight solar panel solution at the upcoming 2023 Smart Energy Conference and Exhibition. Dubbed the Galaxy Series, this new offering is part of a new product division of PV building materials that GoodWe has developed and manufactured in-house to complement its existing range of inverters.

The Galaxy Series is designed for commercial and low load-bearing rooftops that cannot accommodate traditional PV and racking, which is prone to water damage, corrosion, and leaks. Weighing in at just 6.1kg/m2 and measuring 1.6mm in thickness, the 335W solar panel can be easily and quickly installed using standard silicon-based adhesives and hot-air welding. It can be attached to various roofing materials, including single-ply, concrete, and corrugated metal roofing. It is TüV and IEC certified and comes with a 10-year functional warranty and a 30-year limited power warranty, providing an ultra-lightweight, weatherproof, and durable solution. Where an alternative fixing solution is required, an optional bracket can be used to affix the panels, removing the need for intrusive racking.

Apollo Chai, Australia Marketing Manager for Goodwe PVBM solutions, noted that the Galaxy series is particularly beneficial for commercial property owners, “Over 25% of rooftops in Australia cannot be installed with traditional solar panels and mounting systems, due to the risk of weather damage and structural integrity being compromised. The Galaxy series of panels is the ideal solution for these scenarios, especially for commercial property owners who are looking for solar solutions to reduce operational costs at a time when energy prices are increasing. We are delighted to offer this and more PV solutions to the Australian market in the near future.”

Meanwhile, Dean Williamson, Country Manager for GoodWe Australia, mentioned that the company is a step ahead, thanks to its in-house R&D department, “GoodWe offer the largest range of inverter and energy storage products on the market and through significant internal investment and a rapidly expanding workforce and R&D department, we are able to develop new technologies such as PV product ranges and EV charging products in-house. We are looking forward to showcasing some of our product portfolio at the Smart Energy exhibition, including our new ET three-phase 15-30kW hybrid inverter that pairs with our high-voltage Lynx F Series battery, along with our new Commercial scale energy storage solutions.”
