The Australian Energy Market Commission has forecast residential electricity prices to rise 30 percent from last year to 2013. Renewable energy support, such as the Renewable Energy Target and feed in tariffs are expected to account for only 4.5 percent of the increases. Read more.
   
– A solar industry and governmental roundtable conference being organized by the Australian Greens will be held on the 8th of July. The conference will include issues facing large-scale solar energy deployment, such as the necessity and success of feed in tariffs. Read more.
   
– A recent report published by the Australian PV Association shows Australia experienced massive growth in the PV sector last year. PV related employment also grew in 2010, with 6000 system and installation companies throughout the nation by the end of 2010. Read more.
   
– The NSW Government has confirmed that it will allow all new home solar system connections on the basis of net metering and has verified this with the state’s electricity retailers. NSW consumers have been advised to shop around for electricity retailers offering feed in tariffs for surplus energy generated. Read more.
