GetUp and the Greens are calling for Australian to come together on Sunday, November 17 to stand up for action on climate change and clean energy.
The last couple of months have been particularly tough on those fighting for real climate change action and renewable energy; with the Government seemingly hell-bent on razing years of work – and there could be more bad news to come if Australians fail to make their feelings on the issues loud and clear.
“This is a historic moment for Australia. It’s a moment where we decide whether to move forward to a safe, sustainable, clean energy future; or a moment where we let vested interests and big business take us backwards,” said Greens leader Senator Christine Milne.
Events are being held across the nation:
ACT: Garema Place, Canberra 11am EDST
NSW: Prince Alfred Park, Sydney 11am EDST
QLD: Queens Park, Brisbane City 11am EST
SA: Elder Park, Adelaide 11am ACDT
TAS: Parliament House Lawn, Hobart 12 noon
VIC: Treasury Gardens, Melbourne 10:30am EDST
WA: Russell Square, Perth 11am WST

“On Sunday we will stand together with tens of thousands of Australians across the country and demand our nation do better on climate change,” says GetUP.
“When history looks back, we will be remembered for how we responded to this challenge. They will write about two groups. Those who took action, and those who remained silent.”
