The wait is just about over – the first Enphase AC Battery shipment destined for the general market has arrived in Australia, and units will soon be on their way to installers across the country.
Over the past few months, a number of “beta” installs have been occurring throughout Australia. Feedback from installers and owners has been very positive – and now the innovative energy storage solution is ready for prime time.

Australian interest in the battery has far surpassed the expectations of Enphase.
The Enphase AC Battery is a very compact wall-mounted, modular and smart energy storage system that is easy to install. It’s ideal for small power consumption and discharge needs and enables the quick addition of extra units as storage requirements change.
Each unit has a 1.2 kWh capacity, with a depth of discharge (usable capacity) of 95%. Based on Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) chemistry, it has roundtrip cell efficiency of 96%.
It’s also a very safe battery. Crush and puncture tests of LFP batteries show little to no reaction and Enphase chose a prismatic packaging design for its stability and superior thermal characteristics.
The Enphase AC Battery has a tiny footprint – just 390 mm (W) x 325 mm (H) x 220 mm (D) (without bracket). It’s also lightweight, tipping the scales at just 25 kilograms.
Part of the Enphase energy storage system is the Envoy S-Meter, an advanced electronic component that communicates with Enphase’s Enlighten monitoring software; which is used for monitoring energy production and use. Enphase owners are able to track system performance via a comprehensive yet simple and mobile- friendly interface.
Enphase battery systems can be purchased from Energy Matters, which has been installing energy storage solutions throughout Australia for more than a decade. The AC battery is available from Energy Matters either as part of a new solar + storage package or as a retrofit.
