If you’ve ever wanted to see the future of electrification up close, from EVs to clean home tech, then save the date. Everything Electric Melbourne is rolling into the Melbourne Showgrounds from 14–16 November, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting energy and technology expos Australia has ever seen.

We visited the grounds of Everything Electric Sydney in Episode 8 of Energy Matters. Let’s take a look at what we can expect from the massive Melbourne event.

A festival of electrification, not just a trade show

Everything Electric isn’t your average energy event. Think EVs, test drives, home energy storage, scooters, smart tech, and electrification solutions – all in one spot. As Dan Caesar, CEO of Everything Electric (nee Fully Charged Show) and founder of the event series, puts it:

“Everything Electric is like a series of exhibitions we run around the world, but it was actually born out of a YouTube channel called the Fully Charged Show. We decided to run some events, and they’ve exploded.”

From its humble online beginnings in 2010, the show has expanded across the globe, hitting the UK, US, Canada, Europe, and now making its third appearance in Australia. Melbourne is set to build on the wild success of the Sydney editions, which drew thousands of visitors keen to test-drive the newest EVs, touch the latest tech, and get their hands on future-ready home solutions.

So what can you expect in Melbourne?

Prepare for an interactive smorgasbord of clean energy, electric transport, and innovation you can actually use. Visitors can expect:

  • Test drives of the latest electric cars, utes, and scooters
  • Hands-on demos of battery storage, solar tech, and electrification solutions
  • Talks and panels featuring experts, advocates, and policy leaders
  • Family-friendly zones for those bringing the kids along

Dan Caesar notes that the reason these events work is because “people really want to come and see it and touch it and even test drive it – in the case of the cars, motorbikes, and scooters.”

You’ll also get up close with some unexpected players. Think electric wheel loaders and excavators for tradies and industry, plus cutting-edge micro-mobility tech, including electric go-karts and scooters. Whether you’re a sustainability veteran or just curious about making the switch, there’s something for everyone.

Big brands and bold ideas

Brands like ZEEKR, Anker SOLIX, and Volvo CE are among the exhibitors bringing their best to Melbourne. ZEEKR will showcase its luxe electric vehicles loaded with high-end leather and voice-activated tech. Meanwhile, Volvo CE will present their off-road electric machinery – proving that electrification is moving well beyond passenger cars.

Anker SOLIX, featured recently on Energy Matters, will also be showcasing their slick, modular battery tech designed for Australian homes. As Anker’s Phil Krok explains:

“People shop with their eyes… the Anker SOLIX X1 stands out significantly. It has a screen, a sleek design, and it’s built with aesthetics in mind.”

The system even has a motion-activated display, helping consumers visually check battery status at a glance – no app diving required.

A look back: What made Sydney such a hit

Everything Electric Sydney set a high bar. The event was praised for its accessibility, hands-on nature, and strong mix of brands and topics. Energy Matters covered the action, highlighting just how engaged the Australian public already is.

From plug-in hybrid utes with 240V outlets (perfect for the footy and a barbie) to high-powered home batteries designed for blackout protection, attendees in Sydney didn’t just browse, they experienced what electrification looks and feels like.

“It’s not just about climate, it’s about clean air and better technology,” said one exhibitor. “That’s what really resonates with people.”

With the public now more aware of incentives like the federal Cheaper Home Batteries rebate and NSW’s Electrify Everything program, the appetite for events like this is only growing.

Why this year’s show matters more than ever

With over 80,000 EVs on the road in NSW alone – up from 20,000 just two years ago – interest in electrification is ramping up fast. And with battery prices falling and FiT rates dropping, now’s the time for Australians to consider stacking their rebates and going electric at home and on the road.

Events like Everything Electric Melbourne don’t just showcase tech. They educate consumers, connect them with real experts, and help them navigate the practical steps toward energy independence.

Whether you’re ready to electrify your car, your house, or your entire lifestyle, this event will help you make smart, future-proof decisions.

The details

Final plug (pun intended)

As Dan Caesar summed it up:

“Ultimately, at the moment in Australia, only about 10% of new car sales are electric. But it’ll get to a point – believe it or not – where almost every car sold is electric. Might be in the next 10 years. This show could be 10 times bigger by then.”

If you’re serious about clean energy, sustainability, or just saving a few bucks long-term, this is the expo to attend. Melbourne, it’s your turn to lead the charge.
