Heat pump rebates and Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs/STC’s)
The following tables show the number of STCs and their approximate value for commercial and domestic Quantum heat pumps and domestic Siddon heat pumps.Please note that values may vary in accordance with market conditions. STCs are available if the system is installed by a qualified plumber, which Energy Matters can provide.
Given the high number of STCs that accompany heat pumps, this means you can get a heat pump system at a very low price! If you assign the RECs to Energy Matters at the point of sale and elect to use an Energy Matters appointed plumber, we can incorporate their value into the final price. Installation services arranged through our partners usually cost between $400 and $500.
The number of STCs for each system differs depending on the amount of energy saved relative to an electric water heater installed in the same location. You’ll notice that in the information below, STC assignment levels depend on “zones”; i.e., where you live. The following diagram shows the different zones throughout Australia.
