Clean Energy Summit powers Australia’s future

clean energy policy

The 2017 Australian Clean Energy Summit will be held July 18-19 at the Hilton Hotel in Sydney.

The Summit is the premier event helping to lead Australia’s energy transformation. The agenda includes two days of sessions where heads of industry, government and finance meet.

Attendees share the models, trends and technology innovations that they’re leveraging to drive renewable energy adoption, and overcome barriers in its deployment.

Hosted by the Clean Energy Council, Australia’s peak industry body, the summit briefs delegates on the latest policy, finance, business and technology developments in the renewable energy sector.

Industry leaders and clean energy regulators

The Australian Clean Energy Summit draws senior-level decision makers and key players from diverse sectors who are shaping the renewable energy landscape in Australia.

  • Bill Shorten, Australian Labor Party
  • Richard Di Natale, The Australian Greens
  • Don Harwin MLC, NSW Minister for Resources, Minister for Energy and Utilities
  • Lily D’Ambrosio, Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change

Other speakers include Energy Minister Josh Frydenberg and a host of energy business representatives.

Inaugural contribution to industry award

The Australian Clean Energy Summit is Australia’s most prestigious clean energy event, annually gathering close to 400 delegates.

Last year, Fiona O’Hehir, CEO of Greenbank Environmental, won the inaugural Contribution to Industry Award. The judges’ citation read:

“Fiona has made a long standing contribution to the renewable energy sector and recently made a massive personal sacrifice to ensure integrity of the solar industry and to protect the strong and positive reputation of the solar industry amongst Australian householders.

“People like Fiona make this industry a great one, and we are proud to present her with this inaugural award in recognition of her extraordinary efforts on behalf of this industry.”

CEC call for 2017 solar design awards

The Clean Energy Council is also calling for solar designers and installers to submit entries for the 2017 Solar Design and Installation Awards.

This year’s entries close  Friday August 15. Finalists are announced in September and nominations made through the Solar Accreditation website.

The winners are announced on Wednesday October 11 at an awards dinner, a highlight event of the All-Energy Australia Conference in Melbourne.
