– According to a recent Earth Policy Institute report, the manufacture of solar photovoltaic cells around the world grew by fifty one percent in 2009, a record of ten thousand seven hundred megawatts of PV cells globally.

– The City of Sydney has announced it will undertake one of Australia’s largest non-residential solar projects.

– The New South Wales government has announced that any changes made to the existing Solar Bonus Scheme in the state will not affect any existing customers.

– California has increased its renewable energy target to 33% percent by 2020.

– The world’s largest offshore wind farm, situated off England’s south east coast was officially opened in mid September.
