– A report from the respected Pew Charitable Trusts forecasts that if clean energy policies are strengthened significantly; $2.3 trillion could be invested in clean power assets in G-20 countries over the next decade; with Australia having the potential to capture $35 billion of that figure. – Queensland has all the goods to become an international leader in commercial-scale solar power, according to a recent pre-feasibility report on Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) in the state. Read more.
     
– The latest United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP16), which wrapped up over the weekend, always had a lot to live up to, particularly after last year’s Copenhagen talks, which were widely regarded as a failure to capitalise on a global mood for change. Read more.
  
– The Australian Government has announced it has amended regulations to implement changes to Solar Credits support. The regulations will also enable the division of the Renewable Energy Target scheme into large-scale and small-scale components and establish an inspection regime for solar panel installations. – A recent survey has found 80% of farmers are considering harvesting the sun through rooftop solar farms to help power their operations and to create an additional revenue stream. Read more
