Yingli Solar recently announced its subsidiary, Yingli China, has entered into an agreement with United PV for the acquisition of multiple solar farms to be developed and constructed by Yingli.
United PV will acquire at least 300 MW of solar power facilities from Yingli over the period 2014 – 2016. The power stations will be located primarily in Hebei, Guangxi, Shanxi and Shandong provinces.
Yingli Solar also recently announced it had signed a cooperation agreement with Shanghai Sailing Capital Management Co., Ltd. to form a renewable energy fund in Shanghai with view to investing in downstream solar projects in China.
The Fund will have an initial size of approximately AUD 171.2 million (at current exchange rates), with Yingli contributing just over half of the capital. The Fund is expected to invest primarily in Yingli Green Energy’s solar PV projects.
In other news from Yingli, the company announced on Monday it would be co-operating with an (unnamed) leading French solar panel manufacturer to satisfy the requirements of a tender program in France. The manufacturer’s co-branded products will be produced in France and powered by Yingli Solar’s high performance solar cells.
According to Yingli, approximately 185 MW of solar panels will be involved.
“Roughly 50% of the projects in the recent rounds of public tenders under French National Tender Program are expected to use locally made modules powered by cells supplied by Yingli,” said Arnaud Catrice, Managing Director of Yingli France.
Headquartered in Baoding, China, Yingli Green Energy has shipped more than 9,000 MW Yingli solar panels to customers across the globe. This equates to more than 30 million modules; some of which can be seen on rooftops around Australia as the company’s products are rapidly gaining a presence here. Yingli currently has an annual production capacity of 2.45GW.
