– Two of your favourite things have now been combined – solar power and chocolate. Cadbury Cocoa Partnership is providing thousands of solar lanterns to cocoa farmers in Ghana and installing solar systems on the rooftops of 22 schools. Read more.
 
– Energy Matters has won at the 2011 Australian Business Awards in the categories of E Business and Recommended Employer. The Awards recognize organizations demonstrating the core values of business excellence, product excellence, corporate responsibility, sustainability and commercial success. Read more.
 
– Solar savvy Queensland households have helped the state reach an important solar energy target more than three years ahead of schedule. To date, more than 100,500 Queenslanders are participating in the state’s feed in tariff scheme and have contributed 224 megawatts capacity. Read more.
 
– Despite the fact that coal prices have doubled in recent years, from around 150 dollars a tonne to 300 dollars a tonne, this hasn’t reduced demand. Considering this, a carbon tax doesn’t seem a big ask, given the high emissions, destruction of landscape, loss of habitats and pollution caused by the sector. Read more.
