Yarra Energy Foundation (YEF) is an independent organisation that aims for a zero carbon future in Melbourne’s City of Yarra.
YEF’s goal is to engage and inspire people who live and do business in the City of Yarra to take practical steps to becoming more energy efficient.
Established by Yarra City Council in 2010, YEF receives critical core funding support from the Council and is governed by an independent board of highly skilled and experienced professionals.
YEF assists residents and businesses of Yarra to reduce carbon emissions through advice regarding rooftop solar installations, LED lighting retrofits, and energy efficiency education. By connecting residents with preferred suppliers, YEF is a trusted source of information in the following suburbs:
- Abbotsford
- Alphington (shared with the City of Darebin)
- Burnley
- Carlton North (shared with the City of Melbourne)
- Clifton Hill
- Collingwood
- Cremorne
- Fairfield (shared with the City of Darebin)
- Fitzroy
- Fitzroy North
- Princes Hill
- Richmond
YEF plans to roll out solar bulk buy programs throughout the City of Yarra, and began with the Richmond Bulk Buy program.
