Melbourne’s Sustainable Living Festival is in full swing at Federation Square, running from the 12 – 27 February and national solar solutions provider Energy Matters will be attendance, offering great deals on renewable energy systems and accessories.

With talks, workshops and films, the festival’s aim is to raise awareness and provide tools for change to the ecological and social challenges we face.

Some of this year’s speakers include environmental academic David Suzuki, Beyond Zero Emission’s Matthew Wright and world-renowned renegade architect Michael Reynolds. Workshops include basic bike maintenance and  how to address modern sustainable lifestyle issues together. The “Green House” program includes a number of events featuring some of Australia’s renowned environmental “brains and brawn”.

In 2010, the event attracted over 122,000 visits and engaged with hundreds of organisations and individuals to stage Australia’s largest and longest-running sustainability festival.

This year the Energy Matters team will be manning a stand at the River Promenade, displaying the latest in solar power systems for home and commercial applications. Among the products being displayed are REC solar panels, an SMA solar inverter and Sunnybeam Monitor and a very energy efficient, solar-friendly Sundanzer fridge.

The team will be on hand to answer festival goers’ solar energy questions, offering advice for their particular situation along with providing the latest information on financial incentives and rebates for solar power; such as the Solar Credits program and Victoria’s feed-in-tariff.
