Solar Energy in Victoria: Fast Facts

Feed in Tariff:	- A feed in tariff of up to 33 cents (after retailer contribution) is available as part of the Transitional Feed in Tariff recently announced by the state government.

Switchboard upgrade cost:	- Minor upgrade: approximately $200-$300 - Major upgrade: approximately $800-$1000 What’s a switchboard upgrade? Click here.

Meters:	- Approximately $250 single phase - $350 (Note: there is no direct charge if you're eligible for a Smart Meter - contact your distributor for details) - Limitations/specific requirements: Powercor has compatible smart meters. If your distributor is SP Ausnet and you want a system over 4.5kw, you will need pre approval from them. Find out who your distributor is here.

Meter and FIT requirements:	Energy Matters will facilitate the network application/meter change over forms and submit this to the relevant distributor. It is however your responsibility to ensure that your distributor has submitted this to the relevant retailer and that it is acknowledged by the retailer. Feed in tariff contracts (FIT) should be discussed between you and your retailer directly.
